fuel injected 2.3 swap
« on: May 29, 2014, 07:52:29 PM »
so i happened across a free 88 mustang with a 2.3. the current  2.0  just started knocking, sooo... the idea of an injected motor sounds great. Has anyone done this swap? any idea how much of a nightmare the wiring could be?

I picked up a cheap 87 Stang 2.3/T5 2 years ago to do the same swap. I still haven't found the time to touch it but it looks simple to do since the engine harness & computer really isn't that integrated into the body harness. There are a couple people who pulled it off & I've seen the threads on here.

What year is your pinto? Currently a 2.0, I'll guess 71-74. If its a 71-73, then you're looking at some mods to install mounts and will probably need an electric fan in front of radiator due to clearance(2.3 is longer than 2.0 EAO).
