Fuel Filler Neck Seals On eBay, 1980 only?
« on: July 30, 2017, 01:09:28 PM »
So there are a number of auctions on eBay for fuel filler neck seals. They all show that they are compatible with the 1980 model only but even thought I have two '80's, I see no discernible difference between any of my fuel filler neck seals. I suspect that they all show the same error as we know how knowledgeable many eBay sellers are. Can we confirm that the filler neck seals are the same from 73-80?
I have many Pintos, I like them....

Have no idea but the filler pipe on all Pintos I've had were a slight bit ( 1/32") under 2 1/4" diameter.

This ad from SSC Enterprises claims the seal is the same for 73-80.

If SSC says so, it will be right. Good people to deal with.

I saw that too so I suspect it is just sellers on ebay not knowing anything. Ill buy a couple and worst case just install them on my two '80's in the even there is something off about them that prevent them from fitting the other cars. I'll keep you posted.

I used one of the E1 part number grommets in my '72. Fit pretty snug and doesn't leak. I think it's also the same part number I used on an '89 Mustang many years ago.
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.
