There's quite a bit to it.  A 2.8 V6 would be the simplest swap as they were offered stock in Pintos.  A V8 requires a lot more work.  If you're asking about everything involved in the swap and not just specifics, you probably aren't ready to do it.  Use the search function and do a lot of research.  It's going to require a new rear end, different transmission, mounts, wiring, suspension mods, and more.

Yup...LOTS of work...a turbo is a way easier approach to horse power. I wish I woulda done that instead of the V8
