Few questions for a '72 2.0
« on: July 29, 2012, 11:10:45 PM »
What is everyone using for a timing belt tensioner, I can't find one in the books. Also any good books on performance or rebuilding of these. Lastly anyone have a good used thermostat housing?

Thanks,
Dan

O.k did some more looking around and Melling still shows a part number for the tensioner and places like jegs/summit and others still list the number.

It's a Melling BT10 and seems to be around $30-$35

Ok I bought the 2 BT10 the parts store had. I just looked at them and they're stamped "ford" the the wheel   :)

Glad you found what you were looking for.
I think Fred might have a Tstat housing ???
I think there is a book on hot rodding pintos, Might want to look on ebay for that.

Thanks I'll check into the tstat housing, does Fred have a different screen name?.

I read a few other posts (recent to a few years ago) asking about the belt tensioner also, so I though I would post my findings in case it helped anyone else.
