Exhaust manifold to convertor upper bolt
« on: August 09, 2015, 06:47:45 PM »
Got a quick question.. Hopefully someone has had the same issue lol. On my 80 Pinto I'm trying to remove the manifold to convertor bolt so I can get the manifold out of the way, so I can pull the engine, as well as replace the old gasket. I was able to get the lower bolt out but can't get a wrench on the upper bolt. Any ideas on how to remove it?

Matt  Try a socket with a universal & long extention--may work.
Good luck.

Thanks Dick, couldn't hurt to try. I gotta jack up the right side of the car anyway so I can change the tires out with the 77s, as well as disconnect the driveshaft from the transmission so I'll try that then.
