D@mn flashers!!!
« on: August 07, 2012, 09:56:04 AM »
I know it's been gone over but still cannot find the flasher units on my 71'!  Sounds simple, but I have my drivers seat out, radio out, and climate control panel out and still cannot find it.  Hazards and all lights work great but no turn signals.   Does anyone have a picture of a flasher?  this is embarrassing :'(

On my '80 the flasher is under the dash to the right side of under the steering column behind the fuse box.

Some are round or square about an inch by an inch. Aluminum or white, yellow or blue plastic usually.

Son of a B@##**,  It was in the glovebox, had to listen for the hazard flasher clicking sound and found that it was in plain view in the glovebox the whole time.  Anyway hopefully the next guy with a 71' will find it a little easier.  Thanks for the replies-

So not to rub salt in the wound but you do not have a maintenance manual or the owners manual ? There are plenty in EBay right now.....I guess I've had to much time in U.S. Navy I would never do work without a good manual...Looki ng at my room I have the complete set Ford books, 2 Ford Fuel Injection Books One on the Mustang (SVO) and a T-Bird book etc..

Ahh, you're preaching to the choir.  I already know I need the 71' Pinto manual and a 66' shelby manual so I'm half way there.  I've been cheaping out and getting chiltons on my last few vehicles and they have been about worthless and just sit on the shelf, except for the one I used to start fires the other winter.
