rear vent window and questions on window gaskets
« on: April 03, 2013, 05:25:50 PM »
How do you remove the vent window I have removed the latch side and looked, however on the fixxed side there is no rivits holding the window together, how is this removed for sanding and painting under it?

does the chrome strip around the vent window come in any other besides chrome( I want black)

the rear side window on my wagon has chrome strip wrapped by rubber gasket, can this be bought with out the chrome?

thanks
Thanks
May the Lord bless

Yes the Chrome strips can be removed but ,be careful because as far as I know no one makes replacement gaskets for the fixed rear windows....So no you can not buy Cal Look window gaskets...Mask the windows , scrub and paint the chrome black...The quarter window hinges require two people to remove one to hold the window and one to push the sides of the hinges in to release the window. You should be able to use a narrow flat head screwdriver to release the hinge.
