Title: defogger switch
Post by: dholvrsn on August 14, 2012, 08:04:07 PM
I mostly fixed the rear defogger on Wee Beastie. I would have used it last week when I was driving down I-29 through a downpour so thick that my little Pinto wipers couldn't keep up. After losing a hour or so thinking that it was the fusible link or relay, it turned out to be a spotty connection on the under-dash switch. I wiggled it and it sort of fixed itself. But I won't mine buying a new D1FZ-18578-C switch if somebody has one for a cheap enough price. Otherwise, I'll just yank the old switch out and spritz it down good with Electrowash, aka: contact cleaner, aka: tuner cleaner if you're really old school. Anyway, is there some technique for removing that paddle know without breaking something?

I cant remember for certain but I think it uses a small English Allen/hex wrench. If not then it is a roll pin. Pretty sure its a wrench though.

It is a tiny allen head.
