Dash vent removeal?

Guys,
Can anyone tell me how to get the dash vents out of the dash?
I want to paint the dash and can not figure how to get the vents out with breaking them.

You need a small flat head to pry out the vent adjustment part then i believe you can see the tabs for the plastic housing should be on top n bottom. Here is a pic of the vent removed but don't have one of the housing part. Excuse the rats nest car sat outside for 25yrs
