Cross fitting dual exhaust?
« on: June 16, 2012, 10:51:11 AM »
Just wondering if anyone knows/has done a simple dual exhaust on a 2.8L with using  the pipes off the ex. manifold.  My original plans were to use a set of headers that I have from a 86 Aerostar, however, I would have needed to cut too much of the insides away to make them fit. I didn't know how wide these are when I had the ideas.

Now what I am wanting to do is find a set of pipes that will have the proper angles to bolt on to the ex collector donuts.  Is a 2.9 the same size ex?  I am too cheap to take the car to an exhaust shop to get them made. I have welder, and cutting disk just need to know what cars/trucks to go and butcher at pick a part scrap yards. I already have the bottles, joiner splicers, pipes,  just need to get that collector with angles.

Anyone ever done this or know of what will bolt on if any will?

thanks
