cowl help....
« on: September 07, 2015, 06:14:16 AM »
Ok.....so the cowl is something that does not unbolt to remove to get to wiper arms etc......so how in the world do you suggest I get in there to clean sand and paint underneath it....I thought about cutting it out doing the work them welding it back......but when welding, this will cause welding beads/slag to possibly get on the new paint underneath.... .then while sanDing and painting the rest of the car, over spray etc. will get under it....HELP!!!!   signed CONFUSED PINTO IDIOT IN MS.
Thanks
May the Lord bless

Wipers are removed from under the dash / cowl box.

If your cowl isn't rotted & you just want to clean & paint it up in there pull the heater box & drivers side vent & you can reach most arms if your arms are long enough. I did my 80 this way & wire brushed the painted it all without looking.

My 73 was a different story as this shows.
