Hey all
I swapped my 5 speed out for a reverse manual shift C4
I can't figure out how to get the clutch cable out!
Lathe clutch Pedal is removed but I would like the cable out as well to clean up the engine bay
Any Input would be awesome
It looks as if it pushes Into the firewall
I can't figure how to get it out though
It's a 1980 coupe
Thanks guys
Dave

Slip a small hose clamp over the cable on the inside of the car. Put the clamp over the barbs next to the firewall and snug it down enough so you can push the cable thru the hole in the fire wall a little bit. Then loosen the hose clamp and push the cable on thru the firewall. Easy to do.

Even easier than a clamp is to slide a deep well socket (9/16 I think) over the end under the dash. Push it on till it hits the firewall then go pull the cable right out.

I'll have to try that one! Sounds even easyer than a clamp.

I came up with the socket idea when I tried to do the clamp on my 80 with the interior still in & all the wiring in my way. I couldn't get both hands up in there to work so I tried a box end wrench which I couldn't get in there & finally a 6 point socket which was perfect. Chalk my discovery up to utter frustration & old age LOL
