Title: Carb woes...2100, Weber or Side Draft
Post by: CRUISEWAGON77 on May 02, 2016, 11:39:33 AM
Well I finally pulled the motor to fix the damaged pan and clean it all up after the years of leaking.  Now that it's out, I've been pondering the turbo swap even more, but I like to keep it fairly original too.  So in light of keeping the carb set up, what are your thoughts?

I have a 2100 sitting on the shelf to rebuild, but then the Weber and Sidedrafts popped in the my head.  What to do?

Motor is .30 over, balanced and blueprinted, some port and polish work on the head and a ranger roller is about to make it's way in.

Thanks!

I am in the same boat... a 72 2.0 has a 5200 now, runs good  but I bought an offy 4v intake was going to put on a 390 holley but then discovered a complete lynx intake dual dcoe webers ,linkage and air cleaners for cheap. 50k on original engine, putting a rebuilt head with a hot road cam in now...will try the 5200 first , then the webers. just love the 2.0 and 4 speed. So much charm . Had a 72 with a 302...really ruined the drivability and handling. Turbo might be fun though.

Go sidedrafts, if u don't like them u can probably get ur money back depending how cheap they are.
