carb mount?
« on: January 16, 2023, 07:44:45 PM »
The carb mounting area of my stock manifold tilts forward 4 degrees is this right ?
I have always been told it should be flat, 0 degrees.
Is this the way they came new? If so why?

The carb mounting surface tilts forward in order to keep it "level" since the engine is tilted back..
The front off the engine sits about 3/4" higher than the rear

I guess it was not clear the motor is mounted in the car and only tilts back 1 degree, way less than any other car I have ever heard of.
And the carb mount still tilts forward 4 degrees. And yes all mounts etc. are stock. Has anyone else ever checked for this??

What car do you have? I have a stock 73 pinto wagon with 2.0 and my engine tilts back..

Rear is  3/4 inch lower than front

I desiagned and fabricated a custom manifold for my car and had to.slope it so the carbs were level.

Also the only time the carb is.really "level" is when its parked on a level.surface. ..when driving the cuel.is.sloshi ng around so it.doesnt matter..
