T5 install: use T5 yoke or C4 yoke with pinto drive shaft?
« on: September 11, 2006, 07:28:04 AM »
I'm trial fitting pieces for a V8 / 5 speed swap before installing stuff and discovering it doesnt exactly fit as expected.  I have a T5 drive shaft from a Tbird turbo coupe with a large harmonic balancer on the yoke and a regular C4 yoke.  My Pinto drive shaft yoke will not fit the splines of the T5 so I have to swap to either the T5 yoke or the C4 yoke.  My question is which one should I use?  My Pinto yoke resembles the C4 yoke, obviously with smaller input shaft, so would there be any complications using it or does the T5 require a large harmonic balancer type yoke? Thanks for the help!  Oh, other items include a rebuilt 78 302, Perf. RPM intake, 650 Holley, MII exhaust manifolds, 10" aluminum flywheel (got a deal on it), Centerforce Stage II clutch and pp, and 9" Posi rearend.  Thanks again ;D!
Speed is only a question of money: Just how fast do you want to go?

There is good info in the FAQ section about this topic concerning the T5. ;)
