Will these wheels fit a 73 wagon?
« on: April 18, 2013, 08:06:21 PM »
Found these on CL, will they fit on my 73 wagon ? They are 15 inch mustang and he is asking $125. If they will fit what size tires will work without spacers and interference with fenders / suspension?
 Thanks

I have seen them on early pinto's before but I suggest finding another wheel as those TRX rims take special tires that are $434 a piece.  It is an odd metric wheel that equates to something like 15.3" in diameter.  Don't quote me on the size but it is odd. The only place to get the tires are from Coker tire.

Yep, I agree. I had a set too, weird metric tires, very expensive. I sold them for $100

They take a 14 1/2" tire. I'm not sure what idiot thought that was a great idea at Ford but they did it.

Top of the line tire technology when introduced.  Not a Ford idea, but from Michelin, used by a number of car companies.

Its a shame they did this to these wheels, they are good looking wheels. Are there any other good looking factory wheels that will fit my 73 that dont require $400 tires. Pics would be nice if you have any.

there are a ton of wheels with the proper bolt pattern. be sure to triple check the back spacing/offset before you buy.

many foreign cars use the 4x4.25 (4x108mm) wheels.  i had a set of multi-spoked 14x7's off an Audi that were a bolt on for an '80 Fairmont (302 out of an HO Mustang under the hood) that i had. would have bolted right on a Pinto too.

there are many to choose from.
the only substitute for cubic inches is BOOST!!!

The fox body mustang 10 hole wheels should fit if you get the right tire size for the front.  They are 15" wheels.
