Brake pedal travel seems excessive
« on: May 01, 2016, 09:36:01 PM »
I have a 1929 Mercedes Gazelle replica with a 1980 Pinto drive train (including the brake set up). The brakes are manual, F-disc, R-drum. They work great except I have to push the pedal a long way. I was wondering a few things.
1) Did the Pinto have manual brakes? There is no room for a booster in the Gazelle.
2) How much pedal travel does the Pinto have?
3) I am thinking about adding residual pressure valves in the hopes of shortening the pedal travel. Does anyone know if this will work?

Thanks for the help.

My wagon had manual disk brakes, I'd say maybe 3" of travel and nowhere near the floor..
