Title: Body assembly clips
Post by: Tonycando on November 23, 2020, 03:06:28 PM
Does anyone offer a kit that would work for my 1971 Pinto I’ve started back to the assembly after a 2 yr halt and now am back at it..stuff like those little plastic clips needed to screw the fender extensions on and I’m sure I’ll be running into more little things that got lost or miss placed so kind of hoping for a kit

Thanks in advance

I looked at jobbers in NAPA & Bumpers and they do not seem to make the right sized ones. I needed the ones for the grill & ended up using small bolts/nuts.

Maybe a body shop ?

About fifteen years ago I was involved in professional show-quality repaint on an antique Lincoln Continental I owned and the body shop managed to match up existing clips with the obsolete clips they had taken off the car.  They found a Chrysler clip that was a perfect match for my Lincoln's and readily available whereas no one listed clips for the Lincoln at all.  A body shop is an excellent source for that kind of help, particularly if there's one you're already acquainted with.

Yep  might end up doing the same thing  assembly is a pain when it’s not fresh in your mind anymore
