Are these lowering blocks?
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:57:50 PM »
When I cut out the trunk floor, I noticed that it seems I have lowering blocks on the rear leafs. Not sure. Just want to make sure before I take it apart and toss them.
Thoughts?
You will have to click on the picture, and then magnify the leaf block area. Sorry.
Thanks,
Russ

As far as I can tell they look like lowering blocks. The "V" shape of the rubber cushion I believe is suppose to fit in the inner edge of the top plate (follow red arrow).  Perhaps with the weight reduction of the race car a previous owner decided to re-establish the center of gravity.

Thanks.
I was pretty sure that was what they are, especially after looking in the shop manual.
I can't imagine I will reuse them.
But that picture reminds me I need to get new ubolts.

I agree they look like lowering blocks.

Duty - Honor - Country - not just a catchy phrase, it's a way of life.

If those lowering blocks have the oblong-shape to match the plate welded to the axle housing, I think I'd be interested in them.  I may have a use for them.  Check them before you toss them and let me know please.
