Fender removal
« on: February 06, 2013, 04:26:33 AM »
1979 Pinto- I want to remove fenders to see how the metal is underneath and clean up cowl area. How difficult or easy is it? Any help would be great.

I had my fender off my '80 last year to change the door hinge. You have to take the headlight cover off. There are the bolts under the hood on top of the fender, one bolt under the fender behind the wheel going straight up, open the door and one bolt on the top of the fender behind the hinge, and two bolts behind the headlight bezel, and the sheet metal screws above the wheel holding the outer fender to the inner fender. Very easy to do.
