Are 2.0L & 2.3L cam followers the same part number?
« on: July 16, 2012, 07:29:14 AM »
I've found several listings that show the same part number cam followers for 2.0 & 2.3 engines. There also seems to be no difference between solid or hydraulic followers.

Am I reading that right? If so I have a brand new set of Manley followers for a 2.0 that I can now use when I put the new cam in my 2.3.

I believe that is the 2.0s in the Rangers(a small bore 2.3 not the EAO 2.0).

Pinto 5.0,
Be sure that the Ford engine listing you are looking at isn't for the Ranger 2.0 ( smaller version of the 2.3,)  , Only then would the cam followers possibly be the same as the heads are identical. The European EAO (German ) 2.0L is a whole different animal and it has a unique rocker arm pad length and ratio. Those Manley Rockers could be for that EAO motor, and used only with Manley valves.  Just a cautionary heads up..

I guess I would have found out when I tried to use them that they wont work. I guess I can put them in my sell pile since my 2.0 isn't going to need them afterall.

Hey Pinto, if those are for the early 2.0 liter EAO engine, you have some money sitting there in followers, if they have the carbide insert, even better. I'm sure someone will want them, I had to order followers for Burton power in the UK..

I gotta take a pic of the package. They say Pinto 2000cc on em. I don't know about the hardened pads since the package doesn't specify. My 2.0 followers & cam look almost new so I'm not gonna need them on that engine.
