It might be the rear window defroster system.

If you're referring to the holes in the headliner at the rear those shouldn't be there. Someone cut those to take the hatch off.

Yeah I was wondering that. I took a good look and thats what it looks like happened. I plan on getting a new headliner someday.


Found all new Carlite glass for it except the windshield. So I need to find all new gaskets for the stationary quarter windows, backglass and windshield.

Steele Rubber makes new quarter rubber but the price will stop your heart.

Does anyone know where to get the felt molding that goes inside the window track once the window is rolled up?

It depends on the year of the car my 77 pinto has no holes but you can fell them through the liner now my 80 Bobcat has 2 factory plastic ovals that just snapped into place NOT cut by someone to get the hatch off witch is what is under them. I only have one of the plastic ovals I'm looking into getting new ones nos parts.com

Yes there is plastic plugs that go in place of those holes and they come in different colors. If you find new ones before I do let me know I have the part #D6EB64427A88-AWA  Well have fun looking!:)
