Alternator light stays on 78 Pinto
« on: July 25, 2012, 11:30:04 AM »
Hello.

My dad just got a hell of a deal on a 78 pinto  only has 16k miles  everything runs as it should except for the alternator light decided to come on and stay on a few days ago. alternator tested fine when taken to parts store. we have also replaced the voltage regulator 3 times one tested bad and parts store sold us the wrong one  i was wondering what else to do? is there a fuse somewhere we're overlooking?  ordered a book off ebay  but still havent received it  so i thought someone out here might be able to help.

Thanks

there is a regulator block on the back of the cluster. while it is not common it might be something to check out
