Title: 8.8 four lug rear for my 72
Post by: fordblue72 on February 09, 2015, 01:51:03 PM
Is the 8.8 rear from a 87-93 mustang a good choice for my 72? I want to keep the 4-lug pattern so I can use a set of Libre rims but need gears like 373s for the 4-speed. I need to know if the width is close. I  will cut off the brackets and add perches. Price for gears and install kit is forcing me to go to 8.8. Thanks to all who have helped me so far with my newest Pinto.

I have a 8.8 from a mark7 with 355 gears and cobra center section with fox mustang axles and drum brakes, 8" rims and 255 60 15 tires, they are about even with the wheel lip, never had them scrub in 4 to 5 thousand miles
