Title: 79 wagon
Post by: mberg on October 01, 2014, 12:44:48 AM
So I bought this car in 94. After my mom blew up the '80 Cutlass I bought in '92, and I blew up her '78 (or so) cougar. 56k, I was the third owner, (bought it from my boss at kfc). I beat the crap out of it, turned every nut and bolt many times. After it got me through high school and college what did I do? Yes , you know the answer. So, I have heard it is still around. Regardless of how pissed my wife would be, are these fixable? No frame? I substituted an S-10 skid plate for a mustang radiator core support after a day in the woods. (That is what you do when a tree stump wraps it all around the fan). Oh, and it does not help that this would be my 5th vehicle. Uh!

I guess I missed the actual question in reminiscing? I would like it back, but can it be fixed?

You also failed to say exactly what needs fixing.  Pretty much anything can be fixed with enough time, labor, and money; the question is probably more one of whether it's worth fixing, and even that will depend on how committed you are to the project.  Toss a few more details our way and I'm sure you'll soon be getting opinions and answers.

Like Dwayne said, how deep do you want to empty your pockets? If the body is clean & doesn't need 6 months in a body shop & the underside isn't buckled from offroading it then it may be an easy fix. At a certain price point buying another car can be the better choice
