74 and earlier fender opening moulding
« on: March 16, 2012, 07:55:51 PM »
Can anyone tell me how the fender opening mouldings were made. I tried to bump out a dent and it almost appeared that it was plated or coated with something that showed a cracked appearance on the outside surface where I removed the dent. I didn't try to do anything further to it yet, just hoping someone knows the secret to restoring the moulding without hurting the piece. If it's just a matter of smoothing out the aluminum and then buffing, that would be great. It seems like the window, door, and rocker mouldings may be of the same material. I need some expert restoration advice.
