Title: 73 pinto wiring harness
Post by: 7PINTO3 on March 14, 2014, 06:40:17 AM
Hey guys new to the forums here! I recently aquires a 73 2 door hatch back. Apparently it was a "drag car" at one time. Anyways it has a rebuilt 302 just sitting in the engine bay with no wiring going toit. From what I was told it had a chevy 350 in it in her drag days butmy question is if anyone recommends any wiring harness kits that arent too crazy expensive or certain things to look for? Thanks in advanced

Not really that big of a deal if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. Painless, Rebel, American Autowire, (I would avoid "Keep it clean"- a Hoffman company), to name a few.

have a factory motor harness from a 73 wagon - but might be more work then installing a pain less.

I installed a Painless in one of my hot rods in the past and it was a breeze. Hardest part would be figuring out where to put the fuse panel and how to mount it.

You can get them with different numbers of circuits depending on what kind of options you plan on having like power windows. I used the 18 circuit one just so I had everything in case I wanted it.

I'm assuming the 302 is not a computer engine.

I used a Painless before and if you can read it's a piece a cake, and that's coming from a total dummy when it comes to electrical.

American Autowire or Painless are good choices.
