i know that there are a few topics on this. but what i did was, found a v6 car (pinto) with a 8" rear and got some aftermarket axles (mustang ll) with a 5-lug pattern and the 28 spline shafts. or you could have the axles you have now welded and redrilled. as for the front, i got a pair of 9" ( again mustang ll) rotors also with the 5-lug pattern and they just bolted right on. both (front & rear) of my lug patterns are 5x4 1/2". i now run cragar s/s wheels. 15" on rear & 14" on front. and i have had no issues doing this.

hope this helps.  and good luck!

they will be from '74 on up. i got my rotors from j.p.l. streetrods here in Pa.. they have a e-bay store. they may be under mustang ll / pinto. if i remember, they came with rotors, wheel bearings and dust caps (which did not fit). i used my old ones.

to go 5 lug on the front and upgrade the brakes in the process get granada rotors pinto bearings and seals, you will need a set of aftermarket adapters (40 bucks ebay)  some blazer 4x4 soft lines and some gm metric calipers. this will give you 11 inch 5 lug on the front

now for the rear your easiest option is a diff swap and the overall width will depend on wheel size and offset. to fit 98 cobra 17x8's it took the entire width of an explorer diff to provide the clearance. If you can find a fox body 8.8 from an 87-94 mustang and add a pair off drivers side axles  and brake plates and drums from a ranger/broncoII/ aerostar with either the 7.5 or 8.8 which can swap into the fox housing and make it 5 bolt and be notably closer to stock width, add some spring perches and you are off to the races other good swaps are 65 mustang diff or a granada one but they are getting much rarer , the 8.8 is plentyful and cheap
