I bought the engine directly from Cosworth. It's the heavy duty iron turbo engine block with the twin cam, 16 valve aluminum head, Weber carbs, dry sump, etc. It came unassembled, but with all deburring, balancing, cylinders finish honed, etc., just requiring assembly and clearance checks. My Cosworth guy told me they no longer offer the engine in this form, and to do it now would be piece by piece and a lot more expensive.
It is advertised to put out about 200 hp with hydraulic cam followers/mild cams and about 270 hp with mechanical followers. I settled on the "YBB" engine with hydraulic cams for drivability and road going durability. 200 hp at 7500 rpms is just fine.
These three pics are fairly recent. The car is a bit farther along than this; I'm still monkeying with the wiring now.
In the "Your Projects" Forum there should still be a long string of pics from a couple of years ago. Search "Cosworth Pinto" and you should find them.
