I am getting ready to drop my new 2.5 into my Pinto, and I was thinking about the intake a little today.
I am running a Holley 390 CFM 4-barrel, on an Offenhauser intake. The motor is a 2.5 Liter from a Ranger with Hydrolic lifters and "D" intake ports.
My concern is that the intake has round exit holes (where it meets the head) and the head has "D" shaped intake holes. That means that the air / fuel mixture is going to hit a solid "step" when it tries to flow from the intake to the head.
I was wondering if there was anything I could do about it, short of grinding the intake ports on the head to make them round. Is there a better intake I can use that would still allow my 4 barrel to be used? Any advice?
Thanks!
