Does anyone know where I can find a 2.3 turbo diesel out of older rangers? I recently found out ford had one and now I'm interested in how good they were, reliable,  problems , anything you guys would know, I'm in SoCal so if anyone has seen one in a junk yard let me know!! Thank you!

There was a 2.2L non-turbo made by Toyo Kogyo (Mazda) and there was the 2.3 turbo diesel that was built by Mitsubishi with some kind of involvement from Perkins. They are both gutless, but the 2.2 was painfully so. I guess the 2.3 was a decent engine and very economical, but otherwise not very noteworthy.

The Ranger forums have some info about them.
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.
