Does anyone have experience with the cam spray bar needing an o ring where it connects to to the center cam support tower to seal.
Was there one installed at the factory and are they necessary
Ive seen install videos where an o ring was used but have found no place where an o ring is sold.
Ive even dug into my box of o rings and cant seem to find one of the correct diameter and thickness that seem to fit.
The fit of the nipple on the spray bar is pretty loose in the hole in the cam tower so it would make sense that a seal of some sort would be necessary to prevent pressure loss here..
As a precaution i sealed the joint with some #2 permatex (non hardening and oil proof).

Yes, the O ring is necessary. Only in certain Roller Rocker /Needle bearing Cam applications is it an advantage to limit the oil to the followers. (Vizard book) I would check with B.A.T. for the O rings, they were the racers engine parts for EAO 2.0 Formula cars (FF2000 & S2000) years ago, maybe still are.

Update...
Well I called Ivy Engineering in Portland and they sId that they used a .200 ID x .070 thick O ring.
With some research, I found a box of metric O rings at harbor freight for $5 that included an assortment of O rings..
The one I selected was 5mm ID and 2 mm thick which fit..
