Title: 1978 mercury bobcat runabout
Post by: drallimk on July 08, 2014, 05:35:30 PM
I am having difficulty determining an asking price for my 1978 mercury bobcat runabout. This was my husbands commuter car but now is just used occasionally for country sunday drives. It is all original with 4 speed manual. It runs good and has 177,000 miles on it. We are located in  the Pacific Northwest. Any and all suggestions and help in pricing or inquiries would be appreciated.

Hi!

We'll need a lot more detailed information than what you've posted and, even then, it will be more an educated guess than anything else.  Pictures (up close, inside and out, from all angles) would also be helpful.  You mentioned that it's "all original" but that means different things to different people.  With 177000 miles, it's important to know exactly what is original and what has been replaced or rebuilt.  If you can provide that kind of information, I'm sure the folks here will be glad to chime in with their opinions.

Dwayne :)

How much rust would be a good starting question. The difficulty in asking price is because old car most could care less about, since only has value to a collector then the collectors' pockets are the 'difficulty'. There will be no really set price except one very low. At that mileage it will be pretty worn out and why others want to know what's been changed, if little or nothing, still a worn out car there.
