1974 Pinto A/C heater box removal
« on: September 30, 2015, 08:57:51 PM »
I'm attempting to replace the heater core in my '74 Pinto (with A/C). I've done 3 or 4 of these about 25 or 30 years ago. Apparently I forgotten something important. In my attempts to remove it, I've wedged it on the stud sticking out of the A/C open ports (at the access hole in the dash) & the dash frame. Does anyone have detailed instructions on removing & replacing the heater core. Or do I unbolt the dash frame from the car so that there is enough clearance to get the A/C stud out of the hole in the firewall, etc... I'm trying not to take any more apart than I have to. Of course, right now the A/C blower assembly is jammed. Unbolting the dash at this point seems like the only solution, My e-mail address is owenandsons@yahoo.com or a call would even be better. Can anyone help me? Keith 513-658-6281. Thanks!
