I have a 73 that I'm keeping the 2.0 in it. I was planning to V8 it at one time but found a 72 to use instead. I have to wonder about the rack mounts clearing the pan on 73's

I zoomed in on this pic of my 73 without the rack installed. It's all I have at the moment.

I'm not 100% sure which mount you are referencing but the engine mounts bolt at the top but are welded in. The other bolt is where the lower control arm is attached. The saddle clamp for the rack on the drivers side is massive.

What is the thread size of your tie rod ends ?

I was going to lower the rack on my 72. Couldn't find the heim joint ends that would work. Think mine is 1/2" (been a while since I measured them).
I have all the other parts.....and will not be using them - new.

Biggest reason why - the Milodon 8 qt. pan would be low enough to tap the pavement & other nasty things : ie: lowest point on the front.

My 72 has different drivers side mount for the rack.

If your rack has been lowered, without bump steer correction, it will be dangerous to drive. Or so I've read.

found the heim joint tie rods, sleeves, and lowering tapered studs from baer brakes works fine now.
