1972 disk up-grade
« on: April 10, 2012, 08:06:22 PM »
I know, I got to use the search still....

Want to get some stopping power while I am changing springs.

Remember reading it can be done with machine work.....have to find it here ?
If any one knows where it is, please post a link ?

At work & will be away for weeks....

Two sites I had stored from the past.

I believe that Walt, fast64ranchero, recently did this to one of his 72's. Might be worth shooting him a PM.

I added Wilwood disc to the front of my 71, everything fit fine I just had to do some shimming the get the caliper centered.

Granada rotors with the single piston gm calipers and the big drums from the explorer on the first diff  in my car where enough to paste you to the windshield.  tons of brake for a 2200 lb car
Modest beginnings start with the single blow of a horn man..    Now when you get through with this thing every dickhead in the world is gonna wanna own it.   Do you know anything at all about the internal combustion engine?

I was searching this out myself & apparently Granada rotors mount right on the early spindles using the same bearings. Then you slightly modify the brackets for the GM metric calipers & they bolt right on.
