Quick AC question regarding factory parts and R13
« on: October 05, 2015, 02:48:47 PM »
OK - have rebuilt a factory AC system into my car since the dealer underdash add-on was a piece of crap.

Anyways, new compressor (required - already purchased), original evaporator (leak checked - is good, is nicely tucked away inside restored box), I CURRENTLY HAVE NO CONDENSOR.

I PLAN TO USE R13 REFRIGERANT.

QUESTION: Will an original evaporator and condenser work with R13? I want to install a condenser that will FIT the car as intended - not kludge something in (but will if I have to). I know you have to change the expansion valve - no biggie - but wondering if the original evaporator and condenser will work.

Your inputs PLEASE - because I want to get this stuff hooked up soon. THANK YOU.

Chris

Yes it will work , not R13 but R134A , been running it over ten years now , make sure the inside of the condenser is very clean , and do not coat the out side with a lot of paint to make it look nice ,
