Absolutely fantastic forum guys, as I've been to a few & this one is awesome! Please tell me how to lower my '72 wagon with a 260 sunbeam tiger V-8, C-4. It has the stock springs in the rear & incorrect springs in the front that make it sit very high like a gasser which is cool until I hit the slightest dip(let alone a speed bump) & it pops a wheelie -- I am not kidding! I was told by the original owner today that he had no idea what they were out of but it's stance suited him. I want this baby to sit low! Any & all info. would be great!

Thanks for the quick response. I should clarify by saying I want to drop this little jem down to the tires which are both 23.85  inches tall  (205/55-15 front & 225/50-15 rear) on used 15 x 7 BBS wheels with a 4" back spacing. The rears could use a 1/2" spacer as I feel they sit too far inboard. I have read a few posts about lowering springs and coil overs but as I am cheap I just may try cutting coils until it sits right for now. What is your experience with one vs. the other on the '72 type suspension? How about lowering the rear? I value any & all input folks!

for the rear you can use three inch lowering blocks meant for a Ford Ranger. For the front try these , i have them and they are fully adjustable in hight. they are made by   Carrera

Thanks guys, I am still learning about SHINEY = GOOD & those carreras are sure shiney! Awesome pieces to be sure. I horse traded a new set of ross pistons & a set of new aluminum rods ( I work for GRP Connecting Rods) for my wagon, about a $1600.00 value so Pintony may be right!  ;D

Hey Rare cars,
The ross pistons are about 300BUCKS and the aluminum rods are about 300BUCKS.
Even "LESS" if you have the inside track like you say.
Not sure where the extra 1000 dollars came from in your 1600 number ?????

Ya, for a 4 cyl. but I'm talking retail value on custom pistons for a 13.1:1 big block chevy (My buddy Chris @ Ross didnt make me pay retail!) & our state of the art GRP Pro Billet series big block rods engine builder price is $965.00. These are not old technology Manley, BME, C&A, Venolia forged or billet stuff either. Just ask my other buddy Billy Glidden or 1/2 of all the Pro stock teams who makes the best rod on the market. I am not really a name dropper I am just lucky enough to talk to the top engine builders and racers in the world on a daily basis as it's my job. Ya Im a little biased too because I've also been making the rods for 10 years now! Our pro billet pinto 4 cyl rods are $120.00 each and are rated to 1800 + HP in turbo applications. Our base small block ford rods start at $87.00 depending on the application. Whew!

Sorry about that rare cars,
I thought you meant 4 cylinder parts.
Thanks for setting the record straight.
SUBJECT CHANGE!!!
How are the Ross Pistons?
I've never had them and I'm looking to build a long rod 2.0 again.
I built a block using Wiesco Pistons but sold it before I got to run it.

No worrys friend, and as for the Ross pistons they are probably in the top 5 in design features and quality & service (just my opinion as an engine builder etc). It would be hard to go wrong with any of these top brands though : JE-SRP, CP, Diamond, Mahle, Wiseco, Arias. They all have the new slipper or X designs with reduced skirts for high strength and radically reduced weights.
