'74 bumpers
« on: November 13, 2011, 10:17:47 PM »
Are the bumpers on the '74 runabout the same as those on the '74 wagon?  I need a new front bumper for my runabout and have seen a post for '74 wagon bumpers.  I'll take both  (F/R) if they are the same.  I did not find an answer searching the posts and forum on this site.
thank you.

The Ford parts book shows no distinction between the bumpers on a wagon or passenger car.
However there are different numbers for the gravel shield aka stone deflector between them. But I don't think that would matter if you are changing only the bumpers.
Also keep in mind that there are many different bumpers for the same vehicle. W/ no holes, W/guards,W/strips, W/guards & strips etc.
Please note that this for info only as I have never done it myself.

I have put wagon bumpers on a hatchback and vice versa on 1980 Pintos and they were identical as far as fit.
