ANYWAYS-

i dont have a picture of anything right now

but if you that stock 2bbl off you can put a 2bbl off a v8 on that intake, the autolights are better for the spinning around becouse they are made for racing due to how the float is set in it i run one on everything and have about 20 or so sitting on the shelf and can rebuild one with my eyes closed at this point.

I know the feeling,  Everybodys jaw dropped when we rolled in with a 69 riviera with only 12000 original miles. we didnt derby it though, it became a dirt tracker.  People would come up to us,"Are you guys nuts or just stupid, Do you know what this thing is worth?"  I would smile real big and say" Yeah i just saw one on ebay the same color going for $30,000."  The car was just a parts car at that point anyway, it was a CA car w/no title.  Instead of an all yenko derby, or an all 1970 musty derby, we could pit the hemi against the yenko and the boss, and see which one is tougher??? anyone?????....  ANYWAY,WHERE ARE THE MOTOR PICTURES :lost:
Nice job on the new motor Nevada.

71hotrodpinto: this section was made for them, as it states on the main community page link and i quote "This section is derby specific....do n't look if you don't want to see wrecked Pintos!" You don't have to read about it......just don't click on the "Derby" button. Lets end this please.

Nevada Pinto: what you can do to eliminate the alternator is run a string around the pulleys you wish to use & use that as a guide when you go to the parts store to get the belt. Honestly though I dunno how you'd get it installed but I don't really know anything about derby engines & accessories needed. Just came across the topic & thought I'd offer a opinion on how to get a shorter belt.

Hope this helps. ;D

He is right figure out how long you need depending on the pulley you have mine is different from most I guess but it also works on the other pulleys. Just use the string to find out the length put the belt on the crank and have the water pump pulley off and put belt on it then slide it almost on and use the bolts to pull it the rest of the way back onto the pump. Definately a tight fit.

I have an idea, use an idler pulley from an a/c setup. it has an idler pulley to keep the belt away from the water pump on the 2.8 engines.

Altenators break to easy. But we were looking at the idler pulley idea last night off an AMC Pacer.

very true very true - i only run the crank and the waterpump pullys on my small blocks, there is no tightening the belt back up the way i do it but oh well i always take 2 spares with me and i have about a dozen on the shelf just waiting to be used

it takes about 10-15 min to put a new belt on and it lasts about 5 runs if that just need to have several flat tip screw drivers and walla its on and usually it ends up going on upside down , but roll your moter over a little and it'll pop on

here is my old trusty roller 302/AOD in the begining and what it looks like know (only i have better headers) but last winter i tore it down put all new gaskets in it and the picture you see on the bottom is right befor i put the other pan on it i had to pull it out of my truck and stick it in my car i took to jacksonville i was mad . why you ask becouse the oil pan was black not blue

but also this went into a 79 ltd made about 3 hits and the rear u-joint blew and it desentigrated my rear yolk on the driveshaft so im going to build me a sliding driveshaft and put some very very low (5.67) gears in it also a 9 inch with a spool

Here is a couple pics of the motor in a pacer I built this year.  It is a Chevy 3.8 V6.
