460 pinto help
« on: June 11, 2011, 08:55:34 AM »
Iam building a 460 pinto and I was looking for pic's of other peoples 460 pintos. I have a 1980 and the fire wall is moves back 5" and it has a full frame in it with a 8.8 rear end in it for now. The tunnel has been changed to Iam going to use an ultra bell and put a turbo 350 I know it is a gm trans but it is a good deal on the bell. Iam going the use a pair of 460 fox body hooker headers not sure if they are going to work. I don't have alot of money so Iam trying to be cheap. and Iam looking for a rotten pinto/mustang II for wiring for the head light and so on it is all gone that is the way I got it. So if u live in Ontario let me know thanks. THIS IS MY FIRST POST    ;D
Iam building a 460 pinto and there is a guy named Dave that has one would love some pic's of it

A 460 in a Pinto does not sound cheap unless you do the fabrication work yourself.  Searching on "460" in the topic area gives several examples.  Below are two of the most recent projects.  Have fun.

Check with Total Performance in Mt. Clemens, MI, they have Pinto specific parts including headers with flat collectors. (oooo) instead of (88) to help with ground clearance.

Hey, Nice to hear about your project. It's possible to copy a fox body transformation . my project was all by the seat of my pants. My firewall was removed and replaced it 7" back. I made a new tunnel for a C-4 trans with a 351M bellhousing. My headers are custom. the oil pan is stock ford 4wd. pickup model. I also removed the front crossmember and lowered it with some rollbar tubing. I use a stock steering rack. My car is a 1971. I'll be at Knotts this year If your close enough to attend. I'll try to post some Pictures. You'll enjoy the car when you finish, they haul . ;D
