Always use Paypal and you can get your money back if it is indeed a scam!

True!  I ran into that problem years ago when I purchased a hood for my brown '72 sedan; paid the seller and never received anything.  PayPal to the rescue!  Lots of aggravation and time lost, but got my money back!

I buy so much stuff on there that I get hit every once in awhile. Sometimes I actually get hit with a wrong part or something and it's very rare someone doesn't send something. But Paypal always works to fix the problem!

In over 500 ebay transactions, that Pinto hood deal has, so far, been the only time I got absolutely nothing for my money!

Was it awhile ago? I haven't had issues in ages, maybe some years ago. They really cleaned it up. if you used a credit card or debit card and they don't refund at PayPal, you can always do a reversal also. I did that some 6 or 7 or even more years ago.

Ok this is the same person that responded to my request for a 72 Ford Pinto door in the wanted section. I was curious as he has never responded when I asked if he could send me pictures of the door and the condition of it. I googled his name and the pinto stats and found nothing on him. I thank everyone out their for the information and for the posting. I am blonde but the peroxide hasn't damaged me yet. 😄

Oh yeah, it's been a while!  I bought that brown '72 Pinto sedan as a project just a few months before my wife suffered her stroke.  That was eight years ago last week.  As a result, my new position of caregiver kept the project from ever getting off the ground and I finally sold it January of 2013 and bought the Squire wagon (which is NOT a project) to replace it.  All of the parts I was gathering up for that project, including the hood, would have been purchased prior to March of 2007. Truly, it is the only time I've ever had a problem with an ebay transaction.  I always use PayPal; it just makes me feel a lot safer.

The same thing just happened to us on March 19th.  We had an ad in the wanted section for two doors for a Pinto sedan.  We asked for pictures and never got a reply.  Thankfully when I searched the Club site I came up with all of these comments and that it was a scam.  He had the exact same name and address as mentioned.

When I get a questionable e-make or PM I always ask the person to give me their fordpinto.com forum name. That gets rid of most of them. Works for me.

That sounds like a pretty good idea!
