The 2nd annual Pinto Stampede!!!
« on: October 05, 2011, 04:32:43 PM »
I want to plan next years Stampede now that the car shows are pretty much over with, maybe I could get some feedback on participants and locations..
This one will be smaller, a 2 day drive.  But we need Pintos and a location. I want to hear form you on where and when you would like to do this.  Here are some ideas, if you have others, then be heard here.
If you have any other locations, or like these, let me know.  The most partcipant votes will decide this years event. But we need Pinto's to make this happen, so if you are not serious, then don't chime in.

Shoot me an e-mail with your ideas. bosspinto@pintostampede.com

This idea came over facebook.

How about one of Brian Walsh's Re-Union races for a Stampede destination? Brian and I are working on a deal to have a 2.5 Challenge Re-union race at the 2012 Jefferson 500 @ Summit Point West Virginia. There is certainly plenty of room there for car corrals. And, there will be several Pintos on track. Date is May 17 - 20.

Norm, it sounds fun but I couldn't make it... not next year anyway... but I am wanting to go to Carlisle again in 2013... I will be aiming for that. This time I want to go to some other Civil War battlefields in my own War-Horse Ruby RedHot! 2013 will be the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg (well, in July... the first day also being my own 41st anniversary! lol) I do want to thank you and Louise and your Mom Bev again for making the original Stampede such a blast! I doubt I can ever top that trip and all the wonderful co-Stampeders and the fellowship and adventures we shared. It would be neat to do a battlefield-themed Stampede, but regardless the next time I drive Back East I'm gonna visit Antietam, Manassas, Harpers Ferry, etc,. as well as take at least TWO DAYS at Gettysburg.

I live in Nevada, and would definately consider the CA stampede. It would be much easier for alot of us to get a 3 day weeekend off for this. It would be great to get the cars together from the western states and do a "mini" stampede.

Northern California to Knotts for sure!! Maybe not even Knotts as it's just a big hot parking lot of a show full of friggin' Mustangs. After that 6000 mile round trip to Carlisle I would love something closer to home. Just remember, you can't drive 55 on Interstate 5 or you will be an obstacle in the path of the 75-85mph traffic.

Wow everyones out west. I'm in Florida. So either in Florida or in the surrounding states would be good.

At the time of the last Stampede I had a very gas-unfriendly dragster, so going that far north was out of the question.

Anywhere south of South Carolina would be good for me. I know I can be the only one in Florida with a Pinto... right?

On a side note if this isn't going to be an official Stampede (2.5), why not call it something else. Change the atmosphere of the event. Call it something along the lines of a cannon ball run. But still maintaining within the law. I'm not asking for a race race, but changing the name gives it a new feel. Gives something else to look forward to when the Stampede is over, or for those who missed it for whatever reason another shot to get together.

Ill think more on this and post some details when I get a chance
This Pinto is no push-over so park it while I punch it off the line and watch you poop your self...

Something in Cali would be good. Not sure if my Squire will be road legal anytime soon but the Fab Fords would be a good place to end up at since I've never been there.

The Stampede is an organization that is building more each day.  Changing the name and starting over is not a viable option with a website, facebook and so many contacts all ready made.  This is an official Stampede we are planning and hope to have plamns announced soon.  Many different options are being reviewed.  It wil not be a five day event as vefore, that takes too much planning on everyones part.  The next few wil be two - three day events over a weekend.  I appreciate the input and look forward to more replies on this.

Thanks "Trail Boss"  Norm

Yes they were.  i am trying to keep it going so more people can enjoy what that drive was like and to meet more good Pinto folk.  I am working to get a starting point for the next one, once that is secure I can at least announce the date and place.  It is slow since i am trying to get another NASCAR track or two and they are prtty booked right now finishing up the chase.  I will just have to wait it out and hope for the best.  As soon as i have something I wil post it and e-mail all on my list.
