Well, unless a miracle happens in the next couple months, you'll probably have to count me out.
I did some more fiddling with the clutch cable on Ruby, but it looks like the damage is done. She won't shift into any gear but Reverse. I'm guessing the throw-out bearing is shot.
I've saved a tad over $600 so far for this adventure, thinking I would add (hopefully) $1,000 when I get my tax refund.
If I get Ruby's transmission issues fixed (by a competent person other than myself) I can count on all the money I have saved being gone, and I won't be able to go. If I don't get her fixed, then I can't participate in the Stampede, which is what fired me up to go to Carlisle. I really wanted to meet the folks who couldn't make it out here for the California meets, but I'm not feeling zipping across the country for a mere couple days, then zipping back here. This was to be the first real vacation I've had since 1990. Keep your fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath that I can make it.
