trouble posting pictures?
« on: September 16, 2003, 08:18:21 PM »
This seems to be a common problem....

to attach a picture, click on "ADDITIONAL OPTIONS" (When you are posting or replying) see picture below [Click on picture for larger image].
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

this will open up files on your computer. Find the picture(s) you want to post in whatever folder you have them in (eg. my pictures, my documents ect.) Click on the picture you want to post, it will turn the frame of it blue....then click the button that says "OPEN" on that same pop up box. see picture below

the pop up with your picture files will disappear and in the box where it says "ATTACH" the picture name and path should be in there. Click on the "POST" button and you should be done! If you want to post more pictures in the same post, before you hit the "POST" button, click on the area to the right of the "BROWSE" button called (more attachments) and carry on untill you want to "post" them. See the picture below.

this should have you going,  If you get a message saying your file (picture) is too large, find a program to reduce the size (max 100kb) of your picture and try again. Good luck

The picture doesn't do the Engine compartment justice. Countless hours went into making the wiring look so good, believe me it looks alot better than in the pic.

If you upload your images to imageshack you can post a click able thumbnail just like the site's image system which will allow you to post a link to a larger picture if you need to.

I use "Online Image Resizer", this way I don't have to upload any programs, and the best part, it is FREE.

I'm not sure how to help you- There is image size and file size... The site is looking for less than 100k file size on each image. Reducing the Image size will gain you little (unless your image is HUGE). Personally I use Photoshop to set the image size to 450pixels x something and then I save it out as a .gif web image. I'm sure image shack is similar- re size your image (image size) first and then save it as a small file size which is usually a compressed .gif or .jpg.

I hope this helps.

I use photobucket. Just upload the pic (of any size to it), once uploaded click on the pic. It will open a new page with just that pic in it. To the right of the pic is a list of links for that image. I left click on the bottom link (4th one down) and that automatically copies it for me. Then I just come to this site and right click and paste in the box that I am typing my message into.

Try going to http://photobucket.com  and signing up. Then just upload, copy, and then come here and paste.

Your problem here is that you do not have your pictures shared to everyone, only friends.  If we are  your friends on facebook, then we could see the picture.  What I have done is created a page for my pinto (search project frankenpinto in facebook) and post pictures there with no restrictions on who can see them.  From there, I am able to link to each individual picture (like I did for my subframe connectors) and the pictures should be in place till the end of time (or facebook dies)

apparently you have to be a donating member to post any pictures in the forum?. When I click the attachments button, I don't get any option to browse for pictures, or attach any files.

Not so- any registered member can post pictures in the forum, you don't need to be a Charter Member... Try the posting of photos from other photo sites as many others have suggested in this thread. Post the URL to your photos or BCC embed the photos from the photo site by copying the links in your text content.
