looks like SMS only goes up to 1975. Would the colors be the same for the later models?

winsor351 - google sms auto fabrics - you will have to match your material and have a local reupholster them for you. no place to buy nos/repop covers for pintos

The cheapest pinto
« on: June 25, 2003, 03:22:00 PM »
My 1971 is probly one of the cheapest pinto's out there.. my uncle owned it for a long time from 1971-1995

when he bought it new.. he wanted everthing to be as cheap as he could get it..
he was a good money saver thats one of the reasons he bought this car.
back in 70 and 71 he read reviews on the amazing ford addition. it was one of the best commute cars in ford's history, plus it was compact.
my pinto's specs

color:  golden brown
engine:  2000cc 4 cylinder (the only luxery it had)
interior: black
no cigarette lighter
no air condtioning only heater
no power steering
no right side mirror
automatic transmition
it came with the bumpers with the bumber guards
the pass. seat does not slide forwards or backwards
and he didnt get the special key you had to buy extra.

although my pinto might be the cheapest in the world lol
its the greatest pinto in my world im only 18 and i love my little pinto
im noever going to get rid of this car..
im hoping to put a few performance parts into the 2.0
and paint it a nice color of golden brown. and repaint the engine with its origional color "ford engine blue"
and i want to put a pair of mustang seats inside her heart, so she has a little feeling of wilderness within her silent heart..

to see pictures of her go to

Actually, your uncle spent quite a bit on options. In 71 the only options you could get ( from Ford)was, 2.0 motor  $50, Auto trans  $175, am radio  $61,  Chrome window moldings  $60 and whit wall tires  $33.  All the other stuff was standard including the one mirror.

I have just one mirror and a manual trans. too.
This is the first pinto (and car) I've had with the single mirror and it takes some getting used to.

Good looking Pinto.
