looks like SMS only goes up to 1975. Would the colors be the same for the later models?

winsor351 - google sms auto fabrics - you will have to match your material and have a local reupholster them for you. no place to buy nos/repop covers for pintos

rotors for '72 pinto
« on: June 29, 2010, 07:36:26 PM »
OK ,so I'm putting a 331 in my '72 pinto and had noticed the front rotors are pretty worn out, I checked with the local parts stores and they say either they can't get them or they are $132.00 each. Anyone know what you have to do to put '74-'80 rotors on? Is it just replace the upper and lower control arms for the newer ones along w/spindles? OR can you put the newer balljoints on and spindles? Thanks for any help. '71-'73 parts are not that easy to come by around here, '74-'80 not too bad tho.

You are correct, 71-73 suspension and front brake parts are not that easy to come by.  I am in process of rebuilding the brakes and front end in my 73.  I have found all but the rotors.  The front calipers took 3 weeks to get.  The lower control arm bushings were second hardest to find.

The 74 and up lower and upper control arms will not bolt onto your car without some modifications to the cross member.  The upper control arm bolts are spaced differently and the lower control arm bushing is longer.  I am not sure about the spindles but the ball joints look like they can be swapped from early to later.
