looks like SMS only goes up to 1975. Would the colors be the same for the later models?

Looks like we both have some work to do.
Are you driving it? What color are you going to paint it?
Lower it at all?

Mine will be lowered about 1" front 2" rear.
I might change the color to orange.
I have to check what ENS has for bushings.
I have a 12" electric fan thats going on.
Im going to just patch the rust holes to pass inspection.
Over the winter Ill redo it with sheet metal.
I want to drive it this summer. ;) ;D

Mine runs, but I don't drive it much. I have an 8" rear with a spool in it, so that makes it a bit hard to turn  :P

I am going to paint it flat black again, but this time I'm using a compressor and gun, not spray cans. I hope to have the 2.3 turbo in mine before winter time (I don't work on it much).

I have to do everything outside. Last winter I rebuilt the front suspension of the Grand Marquis in 20* f average temp. It had to get done. BTW I was wondering if the cold temps would affect the torque settings?

Ive driven it about 60 miles so far. Kind of loose but runs good. Had it up to 70 mph. Ive been driving it slow mostly, though.
Looks like Im going with PST's front end rebuild kit. I used a kit from then on a 64 Falcon and I was happy with it.

Nice looking wagon. What do you plan on doing to/for an engine?  I've always thought about doing a V8 with a 5 speed. Maybe some day. Check out my sleeper wagon in this forum. Just ran 14.99 on street tires.

Ive checked out your car and I think its killer!
One of the coolest sleepers Ive seen in a long time.

I thought about a V8. I want a turbo though. The easier install and lower cost of the turbo swap are a couple of advantages. The lower wieght is a factor too.

I like the "76" and lower yrs front end more than the "79". So I plan on swapping the front clip with a "76" or before, fiberglass clip.

I also want to use a C-4. Im getting lazy. We'll see what happens. I would like to get a Bobs header to move the turbo forward so I can keep the heat.

There is a middle mount turbo header on ebay right now with a starting price of .99 cents.
I wouldn't say that the turbo swap would be easier then the v8. There was a lot of things that I had to do that I really didn't think of when I started my swap. I did a 460 swap into an 82 mustang gt. I would rather do that again then another turbo pinto. Hope I didn't scare you. :o
If you are going to change the front of your wagon, are you going to change the back bumper too? I'm looking for the rearbumper corners for mine. Maybe we could work out some kind of deal. I've got lots of turbo stuff.

If you can't find an earlier front clip, I know where one is in the junkyard out here. I think it's a 75 or 76.

Thanks for the heads up on the header.
Im still going for the turbo swap. Itll take more than that to scare me from doing it.  ;D
I do plan on using fiberglass bumpers front and rear so you can have first dibs on the corners.

Felix
Thanks for the info. Im going with a fiberglass bolt-on front, though.

Im not going to be able to sink some $$ into it until I get rid of the Shadow that the Pinto replaces.
