Engine has been sent to Mascar in CA for the build. Will be back in May.
Will not be on the road too soon though. Lots of other things need to be finished first. Like headers & body work.

Sold the 2x4 intake.....

Note:
Did not notice till I posted the pics....first pic has a blue rocker. Not mine.
My rockers are a grey/sliver comp cam roller rocker.
He is building 4 B2s at the same time.....

Rockers were changed out because the comp cam (stainless) ones had 1.68 ratio.
Blue ones are 1.73.

Engine is getting closer to dyno time. The pan with the "hump" in it was no good for this. The rods were touching the hump. He put another pan on for the dyno run.

Just ordered the above pan, bolts & pick up.
If it doesn't work on the B2 I'll use it on the next build with the 302w.

My engine is on the right. Using an electric water pump on the dyno.
The 2 intakes in front are the E-BOSS on the left & OEM on the right.
Ready to rock !

Day early !
I'll quote what builder had to say...plus video link.

quote:
345 Cu. In. pump gas 240 .590 cam Engine. I feel that the most important Dyno numbers are the BMEP,It tells you how efficent the engines is.Reeves ran in the 170s.Modern CHI/ AirFlow Research
head type engines run in those numbers.Very Happy.Mini Plenuim made peak Tq.@5500 423.H.P.@
6500 478 The Stock Intake really runs well.Tq.@4800 403.H.P.@6700 465  E-BOSS Tq@5100 416.
H.P.@6500 473  The E-Boss runs Very close to the Mini Plenuim, and has the best average..The OEM
intake really holds its own,and was the only one that liked to rev.to 7000RPMS and only lost 13HP
to the mini and held its Tq up to the E-Boss!! All Manifolds lost Tq,and gained NO H.P. with 1inch open spacers.E-Boss intake fit best on the engine with the OEM style Felpro1248 gasket. Checkout the videos..Hope this info helps..

FYI..... the engine didn't have a windage tray when on the dyno. With the new Milodon pan & windage tray it will bump the HP up to 483.
If for some reason I want even more, I can change up from the 750 DP to an 850 DP and get over 500 HP out of this build.
The 750 will have better street manners though.

Engine finally found it's way home !
Head scratching on how/what to do about the alt.
I have the short water pump (gives me another inch & a half clearance). But no parts are made to move the alt back, on a BOSS 302.

Engine sitting on the floor was driving me nuts. So I made a spreader bar & put the engine sort of in. You can see I changed the oil pan. This means it will need changes. I do not have the new Quick Time bell here yet. So I do not know if I'll raise the engine an inch & a quarter - or lower the rack. I'll decide when I get the bell. Pan is a half inch off the rack in this position.

You have the scoop, looking at the photo I would
mod the frame mount to use the engine mount in the photo.
That is if the QT bell gives you enough clearance to the trans
tunnel and doesnt make the engine/trans angle to bad.

Will the v/cs clear the hood ok?

Lots of clearance under the hood.

I will raise the motor (and trans) if needed. I'd rather not lower the rack.
May mean I'll need to mod the fire wall more than was done before. No big deal.

Those frame mounts are made in such a way they can be flipped. 4 bolts in each one & welded down front & back. Easy to do.

The QT bell I'll be using has tons of clearance as well. I tried to put the stock bell that was on the 302w. Wouldn't fit, due to the ribs it has.
No ribs on the QT:  http://www.summitracing.com/parts/QTI-RM-6063/

That 1/4" flat bar has been in a parts bin since the 70s ? It was a mirror extension for Ford pick ups !
I'll pick up a new belt this week end & test to see if it pulls the pulley out of line. If so, I have a plan on how to fix it.

Next is the bell so I can figure out how to mount the engine....

Done. I'll likely change the alt to a one wire though. Trying to decide on painting the pump, or leave as is. Picked up all new bolts for the pump today. All taken off, till the engine is in for the last time.

You'll see that lots of detail work needs to be done in the engine compartment. After the headers are built, it will get done.

Due to the new Milodon pan I had to raise the engine. I was going to cut the frame mounts off & re-locate them. Made spacers instead. Let me know your thoughts ?

Holley throttle plate & Lokar cable.
Not too fussy on the size of the plate. May one day change it.

T-10 problem. The pilot shaft is just barely in the bearing. Had plans to re-build the tran anyway. Needs to be (about) 1/2" longer.

When I got the car it had a 302w in it. Drove it maybe 100 miles (at most) to see how it handled etc. All I wanted to know is what I'd change when I put a BOSS 302 in it.
Due to many cost over runs it will not be back on the road this year.
It will be next spring though.

Instead of 2 individual spacers,I would
do a 1 piece that would lay on the mount
and  the engine would bolt to it.
