To 71hotrodpinto,

Thanks for the web site link for the prop rods. Will definitely consider that option. That big hole in the steel hood makes it flimsy and without proper support it will not take much abuse like a fiberglass hood would. If stressed or twisted the steel will crease as all of the center and front inside foundation has been removed.

Those prop rods sure do look good.

Here is an old picture that shows some of the under side of the hood. I can take another if necessary. Any particular part of the underside of the hood you would like to see?

Hmm good point. However i was and still am, worried about my hood and the prop rods being to strong. So emailed them and asked about it. They were really help-full right off the bat. Told me i could swap them for some lower strength ones if i wanted but assured me that they would be fine. Id send them your pic and what your concerns are and see what they say.
Killer setup you have there! Must be a handfull!

WHOOOOOA is right!!....never seen a small block Ford with a Blower setup like that. Seen the small blowers but not a big boy like that. Very nice!! :surprised:

Taking the car out today for probably the last time! Meeting some friends for lunch, everyone going has to bring an old car so I figured I'd bring her out for one last time before the cover goes on for the winter!

After looking at you pic I have a feeling your hood will bend in the middle from the strut pressure when you try to close it.

Took the car out again for a nice long fall drive and it was again sooo nice to be driving it around. Don't think I'll ever get used to the looks and attention this car gets! It's just a pinto! ha ha. good times!

Ill get that feeling again here soon, one of the two bobcats I have will be on the road again. I have been forced to sell the Van we had ( it had too many Issues) glad to hear your out and about in that beautiful lil pinto of yours.

I dont get snow down here lol. and I just heard from the shop I take my cars too when I have no time to work on em. I have to have the radiator rebuilt on the blue one as well as a complete brake system flush adjust and fill. they are turning the rotors and putting the new pads on for me as well. so this month has been fun already. lol

I think my next project I'm going to do to my car is lower the back about 1-1/2 to 2". gotta do some measuring but I want it to be level not higher in the back. Think it will look nice!

We'll see. If I don't like the way it looks I'll put it back the way it was. I think an inch and a half wouldn't be bad at all.

In the next month or so I'm going to be pulling the rear end out of my car and installing a limited slip and 4.11 gears! Can't wait to have aome traction!

Got some bigger tires in the back and lowered it 2" in the back and also cut the rear bumper brackets and cut the rubber piece in front of the bumper and moved the whole thin 2-1/2"s closer to the car. Looks sooo much better I think. Been having an absolute blast with it so far this summer!

Yeah I think it looks much better then before, its got a little more tire and a little less rake to it. Love it!
